Privacy Policy

In short

We collect your email so you can have an account, the listing text we generate so you can find it again, and a record of any credit packs you buy. We do not store the photos you upload, we never see your full card number, and we do not sell your data. Each section below opens with a one-line summary.

This Privacy Policy explains how Sellsmith ("Sellsmith", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our website and app (the "Service"). Sellsmith is an AI tool that turns a photo of an item into a suggested marketplace listing. We try to collect as little as we can while still running the Service well.

1. What we collect

Your email, the listings we generate for you, and your purchase records. Plus basic technical logs to keep things running.

  • Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider, Clerk, collects and stores your email address and login credentials. We use your email to identify your account and to contact you about the Service.
  • Photos you upload, only while processing. When you generate a listing, the photo you upload is sent to our AI provider so it can produce the listing text. It is used only for that request. See section 2 for what happens next.
  • Generation history. We store the listing text the Service generates for you, such as titles, descriptions, prices, categories, condition, and hashtags, so you can revisit it later.
  • Purchase records. When you buy a credit pack, we keep a record of the purchase, such as the pack, amount, date, and credits added. Stripe handles the payment and collects your payment details directly.
  • Basic technical and usage data. Like most online services, our infrastructure providers may process limited technical information, such as IP address and request logs, to operate the Service, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.

2. What we do not collect or keep

We do not store your uploaded photos, we never see your full card number, and we do not sell your data.

We do not store the photos you upload. After the Service generates your listing from a photo, that photo is not kept on our systems. Only the resulting text is saved to your generation history.

We never see or store your full payment card number. That goes directly to Stripe. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to show you third-party advertising.

3. How we use your information

To run the Service, manage your account and credits, save your history, keep things secure, and contact you when needed.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Service and generate listing content from your photos.
  • Create and manage your account and your credit balance.
  • Process credit pack purchases and keep purchase records.
  • Save your generation history so you can find past listings.
  • Keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits and our Terms.
  • Contact you about your account, your purchases, or important changes to the Service.

4. The third parties we use

We rely on Clerk, Stripe, Google Gemini, Neon, and Vercel. Each one only gets the data it needs to do its job.

We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to run Sellsmith. Each one receives only the data it needs for its role, and each has its own privacy policy covering how it handles that data:

  • Clerk handles account sign-up, login, and authentication. Clerk stores your email and login credentials.
  • Stripe handles payment processing. Stripe receives your card details and processes credit pack purchases.
  • Google Gemini handles AI generation. The photo you upload and a text prompt are sent to Google's Gemini API to produce listing content.
  • Neon hosts our database, which stores your account reference, generation history, and purchase records.
  • Vercel hosts and serves the Service.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, to protect the rights, safety, and property of Sellsmith or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. If ownership changes, we will let you know.

5. Cookies

Only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and the Service secure. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Sellsmith uses only the cookies and similar technologies needed to make the Service work, mainly to keep you signed in through our authentication provider and to keep the Service secure. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

6. How long we keep data

We keep your account and history while your account is active. Photos are never kept. Purchase records may be kept longer for tax and accounting.

We keep your account information and generation history for as long as your account is active, so the Service stays useful to you. Uploaded photos are not kept after a listing is generated. Purchase records may be kept longer where needed for accounting, tax, and legal reasons. When you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except for records we are required to keep or that remain with a provider such as Stripe for financial recordkeeping.

7. Your rights and choices

You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to close your account.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To request any of these, or to close your account and delete your data, email us at protoniskis@proton.me. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

8. Children

Sellsmith is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Sellsmith is intended for adults running a reselling activity. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the date at the top.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the Service after an update, that means you accept the revised policy.

10. Contact
